Undead and Unforgiven Queen Betsy MaryJanice Davidson Books
I loved the first 5-6 books in the series, but then had to stop reading, for multiple readings. The story line got to be ridiculous, the writing deteriorated, the characters started changing in extreme ways, and I was offended that I was paying so much for what basically amounted to a novella-length story disguised as a full-length book with large type and spacing. However, I was listening to the first few books again and was curious as to where the series was now, so I read the latest three books (not the Underwater short story). I have to say, there have been some major improvements. There is a lot more to the stories in the last three books and I look forward to reading the last book in the series, out soon. I'll probably have to go back and read the books I missed too, just to catch up on a few of the story lines.I can't wait to see how the series ends. The twists regarding hell have really made things interesting and the changes to Laura are fascinating. I always thought she was too good to be true. She's finally acting her age! I have to wonder, in the final book, will Laura die and go to Hell? It would be the ultimate irony. And let's be honest, she thinks she's a good and wonderful person, but her actions speak louder than words. Based on her own beliefs, there's just no way she'll make it to Heaven, and I'm petty enough that I would love to read her reaction to ending up in the place her own faith says she belongs. That would be awesome. Under Betsy's control for eternity. LOL.
Basically, the writing and storytelling have again improved and are almost on par with the first 5-6 books in the series. Excited to see the turn-around and looking forward to the final book in the series. For the first time in years, I am pre-ordering a book in this series.

Undead and Unforgiven Queen Betsy MaryJanice Davidson Books Reviews
Another great addition to the Queen Betsy series
I am a Queen Betsy fan and this is another great story. She finds herself spending more time in hell and wondering about some problems. You'll love this new book!
I have a very stressful job, so Queen Betsy is my guilty pleasure of reading. Mary Janice Davidson never disappoints with Betsy's adventures as Queen of the Vampires. I look forward to Betsy's next adventure and fun, sassy, sarcastic personality. One of the few reads that makes me laugh out loud.
It's heartwarming to see Betsy finally finding her inner warrior. It takes even her closest friends and family by surprise when she solves all of the latest problems on her own, without resorting to death and dismemberment. I'm also finally getting the hang of this new Sinclair, who can walk in the daylight and go to church whenever he wants. He's still ruthless, but it's a tender side of him that we've never seen before. Best of all, zombie Marc finally has a love interest. I'm sad to know there's probably only one more book in the series, but this one has gone miles to bringing the series to it's ultimate end.
I have been reading the Undead series since the first one, Undead and Unwed came out. Undead and Unforgiven did not disappoint. Ms. Davidson has a way of making even the most improbable plot twists plausible without making you scratch you head and say "Huh!" There are serious moments as well light-hearted ones. A lot of loose ends were tied up in this book, but many more are still dangling. I cannot wait for the final book to see how this will all end. I hope that there will be a storyline within the final book that delves deeper into Babyjon's character. A new character was introduced in Undead and Unforgiven which surprised me since this is the next to last book, but I hope that there will be more of him in the next one. I strongly recommend this book if you have read any or all of the previous books. If not, I suggest that you either start from the beginning or at least from Undead and unfinished. If you don't you may get lost in some of the references. Having said that, Ms. Davidson was kind enough to site the books that contain backstories on the references in this book.
I have to say that it's not a good sign when I'm snorting tea thru my nose while reading the forward ,before I have even started the book!!! Then again, that's MJD for you. This book is, as usual, hilarious. There is little I enjoy more than reading about selfish, thoughtless paranormals who end up doing nice things and loving a lot of people despite the fact that they are kicking and screaming the whole way! This is classic Betsy, Queen of the Undead!
Anymore who has given this book a bad rating has actually read it. I don't believe the ones who have given it high ratings have, I'm on page 65 and I'm wondering what the heck is going on with Mary Janice Davidson! Is someone else doing the writing for her?
Betsy seems to always be talking to herself and mumbling or ranting and raving about something. So far I hate it.
I enjoyed the first few books, and I know Betsy was crazy then but these last books are just ridiculous. She doesn't seem to ever mature even a little bit. I'm done with this book, there are too many good authors out there to read, I don't need to torment myself by struggling to get through each page just because I bought the book. Borrow this from a friend or library if you must, but I don't buy it!
