THIS book is a difficult read. Not that its a bad read. It's just a nerves on edge, nail biting, head spinning, love/hate back and forth characters all the way through. At 16% I was wondering why the hell did a buy this book? But the BIGGEST question was, why in the HELL can't I stop reading it. I don't know what to say. God I needed a valium, stomach medicine, body massage, bleach for my eyes, a lobotomy for my brain. This damn thing was so addictive from page one to the last. I keep telling myself, you should hate this book...but I can't. I just can't keep my mind off of it. I can't keep my the questions from bombarding my brain about what I just read. This isn't even my type of happy in love read. But now I have to ask...since I begrudgingly loved it...maybe this is MY TYPE OF READ.Don't expect hearts, and flowers, and happiness, and easy to love characters.. it ain't in here, but there is so much more that it doesn't need all that crap to make this a astonishing love story.

Imaginary Grace edition by Anne Holster Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews
From the moment I picked up this book, I was hooked. I loved the development of the characters and the unexpected twists and turns of the plot. The writing was superb. I was so caught up in the story that at times I found myself tearing up, and other times, my heart was pounding. I literally could not put this book down. I am hoping for a sequel...
This was a great coming of age romance. You can tell that Ms. Holster knows how young adults think and act. I enjoyed the alternating points of view to let us know what the characters were thinking and feeling. I think we can all relate to Grace's feelings of insecurity and her massive crush on heartthrob Tanner. If you're like me, you'll spend the first part of the book hating Tanner but, don't despair, a happy ending is just around the corner. Read and enjoy!
I would recommend. Why? There is character growth for the protagonists. The main characters are not one dimensional, and grow to be more likeable. The plot is unoriginal, but the writer had the skill to develop a good story.
Perspective The story is told form the point of view of the hero and heroine.
Steaminess/Cursing Moderate-Medium
Ending No cliffhanger - big plus, happy ending/ satisfying ending
The story is narrated from both (first person) Tanner and Grace's perspectives. The naivety of Grace and the evilness of Tanner is what kept me captivated. I say evilness loosely because Tanner does have a reason for doing what he does and it makes sense. The character development and story development were very good, most of all it was realistic even her change of appearance. I hate these makeovers that occur in one day, change takes time and the author completely understands how real people react when asked to change.
Well to tell u the truth. To really have a chance at surviving this book you have to make it past 50% its where things get a bit more interesting. Until then I was hating grace and tanner. After month until about 50% they only speak super casually, nothing with depth, and fragmentary says a complete phrase. much less two. I hated the ending, it felt completely rushed and plain. And although I sort of enjoyed the story I didn't think their "love" was as strong as I thought it could be. There wasn't really a favorite character, but if given the choice I'd say jagger. That says a lot!!!
Awesome! In the beginning of the story, Grace is such a nice, innocent, young girl trying to finish college. Tanner, on the other hand, is a selfish, self-centered player! To con his parents out of money to go on tour with his band, Tanner devises a plan. One that will destroy Grace if she ever discovers what he is up to. The problem Tanner never planned on falling in love and he just may lose Grace in the process!
Can love survive when its foundation is deception? Desperate for his parents to fund a summer tour with his band, Tanner needs to show them that he’s moved away from his wild ways and is ready for the responsibility. He and his roommate cook up a scheme for him to fake a relationship with a wholesome girl who will win his parents’ hearts… and get them to fork over the cash. Grace has no idea why a guy as hot as Tanner would pay her any attention, but she loves it and soon she loves him, too. To his surprise, Tanner comes to find that he’s equally in love with her. But will he be able to keep secret the truth about their romance’s beginning?
Holster’s engaging writing style and likeable characters kept me turning pages in this new adult romance. The pacing is slow enough to allow emotional nuances to develop without becoming bogged down in minutiae – quite a feat when a single “k” text can convey volumes to your characters. The plot is fairly linear, though there are a couple of subplots (Grace’s roommate’s long-distance boyfriend and her current on-campus flirtation, for example) that add additional atmosphere to the collegiate setting. Character development is solid; the heart beneath Tanner’s promiscuity and sleaze is especially well-executed and avoids descent into cliché. Dialogue feels fresh and authentic. Even though the conclusion was hardly a surprise, I found it both satisfying and credible.
This was a light-hearted and enjoyable story. I am a new reader of new adult romance and will certainly look for more in this genre, particularly from this author.
